On July 25, 1976 NASA's space probe Viking I took a picture of a strange object in the Cydonia Region on the planet Mars which looks extremely like a human face. The Austrian science writer and book author Walter Hain (former honorary member of the Ancient Astronaut Society and member of The Planetary Society) has seen the picture at first on Austrian television news on December 15, 1976. He was extremely impressed about the picture. He had the idea that this face could have been artificially constructed by extraterrestrial intelligences.

In 1979 Walter Hain published the first book ever about the "Face on Mars" (Cologne, Germany) and also about a former civilization on the Red Planet with the title "Wir, vom Mars" (The English version "We, from Mars" is available from the contact-address at the cost of US $ 20).

The author held several lectures in Austria, Germany, America, and Australia. He published newspaper reports in various countries about other "faces", "pyramids", and "ruins" on Mars.

In 1987 Walter Hain performed a computer analysis at the Technical University of Vienna which revealed a striking similarity of the Face on Mars in Cydonia with the face on the Shroud of Turin.

Eight years later in 1995 Walter Hain published a book in Germany titled "Das Marsgesicht" (The Face on Mars) which tells the true story about these findings. Translated editions are available in Netherlandish, in Czech and in Japanese. (See the sites of the Booksellers). Recently he published in 1997 a new book in Germany about the extraterrestrial origin of Jesus Christ in connection with Mars.

The comparison with the Face on the Shroud of Turin.

The Nasa has made now a lot of pictures of the Mars Face. The mountain looks unusual framed and the elevations are laying on a plateau. It looks further like a human face with "eyes", a "nose" and "hair" on both sides. Remarkable lines we can see on some pictures on the forehead. Surprisingly they show the Jesus monogram X+P. The object is not just an ordinary mountain!

The author has also written a Movie Story which is registered since 1993 in the "Writers Guild of America". He also composed and wrote a MARS SONG in 1995. Free download 3,52 MB >>

Walter Hain - the "Finder of the Face on Mars" says:

It is very important that we take further pictures with the next Mars probes. It is also important that we land with rovers near the objects of Cydonia.

The Mars Face in the Cydonia area is in anyway the first object outside of our Earth which was examined for a scientifically wise - almost worldwide - ones for a possible factory of extraterrestrial intelligences. In this way, it appertains for search after artifacts from extraterrestrial intelligent, SAETI (Search for Artifacts of Extraterrestrial Intelligences).

"An important way for human race, is starting to another place. To find the answer for our own existence and that we are not alone. There is a place not far away, from where we live and where we stay. It is a planet between the stars, it`s our neighbour, we call him Mars.

- poem of the Mars Song by Walter Hain 1995.
